A place to practice

The Veteran Sailing Simulator is an educational, browser-based practice tool. Its geography, boat handling, wind, water, navigation aids and encounter guidance are approximations. Historical imagery and modeled conditions do not describe current conditions in San Diego Bay.

Do not use the simulator for real-world navigation, safety decisions, voyage planning, rules compliance or certification. It does not replace qualified instruction, official charts, current notices, weather observations, local requirements or a skipper’s judgment.

Private pilot access

Anyone may request a place in the pilot. An email address must be verified before a request is submitted for review or a place is reserved. Service history is self-declared; do not submit service records, identification documents or sensitive personal information. Approval depends on available capacity and the pilot’s review process. Submitting a request does not guarantee access.

One account per person. Use your own account and provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Do not share sign-in links or sessions. The Veteran Sailing team may suspend, revoke or decline access, including when the service is misused or pilot capacity changes.

Responsible use

Use the simulator for lawful personal learning and testing. Do not attempt to bypass access controls, misuse other people’s accounts, disrupt the service or send automated abusive requests. Please report errors and confusing behavior through the Veteran Sailing team.

Experimental software

This pilot may change, be interrupted or become unavailable. Features, performance, access and locally stored scenarios are not guaranteed. Keep any information you need elsewhere; the pilot does not promise cloud-saved voyages.

Materials and attribution

Veteran Sailing branding, simulator code and third-party geographic materials remain subject to their applicable rights and licenses. The simulator’s credits identify its data and material sources. Pilot access does not grant permission to redistribute restricted materials.

Privacy and changes

The Privacy notice explains the information used to administer the pilot. Material terms changes require acceptance of the current version before entering the simulator.
